Michelle Lassaline is a working artist and illustrator based in the Pacific Northwest.
Lassaline started the animal-portrait-project in 2014, and has since performed for the City of Seattle, Artist Trust, 4Culture, the Tacoma Art Museum, the Seattle Mayor's Arts Awards, the Northwest Public Art Conference, Pike Place Market, Fremont Market, Vashon Strawberry Festival, and numerous weddings, celebrations, and parties.

Lassaline has partnered with nonprofits to perform at fundraising events including Vibrant Palette Arts, Seattle Animal Shelter, and Level-It Women's Art Handling Network.
You can book "You as an Animal" for your event, or find her throughout the year at public markets like the Fremont Sunday Market or the Vashon Farmers Market.

Michelle earned her MFA from the Maine College of Art & Design in 2022. In addition to creating watercolor portraits and masks, Michelle works in video, textiles, found-object sculpture, painting, and illustration. Find out more at www.michellelassaline.com

Michelle also illustrated a fantastic book by author Amy J Hammer, How to Grow a Baby . This is an empowering, science-based companion text for pregnancy, birth and early parenthood, released in 2021.
